For your viewing pleasure...

Big doings on HBO this weekend. Sunday nite marks the premiere of Deadwood season 3. This should prove a bittersweet event as HBO inexplicably declined to sign the cast for a fourth season. Even series creator David Milch was cool with dumping the show as he was promised a greenlight for some new show idea of his...

Excoriated by fans and the media alike for their hoople-headed decision, HBO and Milch have come up with a compromise position, an additional four-hour miniseries to wrap things up and give the show some closure...

It's also a big weekend for comedy on the old Home-Box. Lewis Black gets a special that starts running Saturday nite. Black cracks me up...

A new season of Entourage joins the Sunday nite lineup - I don't watch it myself. But a new family sitcom kicks off as well: Lucky Louie. Don't know if it's any good but I'll be checking it out. And Sunday nite winds up with the first installment of Dane Cook's Tourgasm. The show follows a 30 day comedy tour of Cook and three other standups. The Daughter turned me on to Dane - really, really funny...

Frankly, I'm disappointed they'll be spending time on the other guys. But the fact that there's absolutely no Larry the (effn') Cable Guy makes the show worth checking out...

Lewis Black: Red, White and Screwed - 10pm Saturday
Deadwood: Season 3 - 9pm Sunday
Entourage: Season 3 - 10pm Sunday
Lucky Louie: Premeire - 10:30pm Sunday
Dane Cook's Tourgasm - 11:00pm Sunday
